Temple Garden Chambers is today launching chambers in The Hague
Temple Garden Chambers is today launching chambers in The Hague to service TGC’s growing international practice before all international courts in The Hague, representing Governments, corporations, and individuals at the highest levels. TGC is one of the first UK chambers to open offices in The Hague, and to do so with a large contingent of its members working on international cases there.
The launch will be held at the British Ambassador’s residence in The Hague with a lecture by the Rt Hon Dominic Grieve QC MP, the former Attorney General of England and Wales. His talk is entitled: “Why International Law Matters”. This will be the start of a lecture series to be co-hosted by the British Embassy and TGC on prominent international law topics over the coming year.
The Hague is a well-established international law hub, being home to the International Court of Justice, ICC, Permanent Court of Arbitration, ICTY, Special Tribunal for Lebanon, and various other bodies. It is thus essential for TGC to have a strong presence with Chambers being opened in The Hague. Karim Khan QC and Rodney Dixon QC, who practice extensively in The Hague, said that this “was a landmark move, to launch TGC’s presence in The Hague, to have a home for our work, and to be able to provide a first-class service for clients.” They highlighted that this was a “rapidly evolving and very dynamic field of law” which demanded “specialist expertise and bespoke resources in The Hague” to best represent the needs and interests of a very diverse range of clients from around the world.
