Zimbabwe Commission of Inquiry into the Post-Election Violence

The Zimbabwe Commission of Inquiry into the post-election violence of 1 August 2018 continues its hearings this week in Harare. The Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces as well as the Chief of Police and the Head of the Electoral Commission are being heard before the Commission.

Rodney Dixon KC is serving as a Commissioner on the Commission of Inquiry appointed by the President of Zimbabwe under the Commissions of Inquiry Act. The Commission consists of seven members and is chaired by the former President of South Africa, Kgalema Motlanthe. To date the Commission has heard over 120 witnesses, including the families of the deceased, and has held hearings in all judicial divisions, namely Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru and Mutare.
