Keith Morton KC, instructed by Richard Voke of Temple Bright, Bristol has secured a substantial reduction in the fine imposed on a large construction company following a guilty plea to a charge under section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
The Crown Court accepted that the District Judge had fallen into error in her application of the Sentencing Guidelines for Health and Safety Offences and reduced the fine by a little under a quarter of a million pounds.
