Rodney Dixon KC acting on behalf of a detainee who had his confession obtained under torture, broadcast on TV as though it were a voluntary interview, has succeeded in his complaint to Ofcom.
The adjudication has found that the TV station violated the fairness and privacy provisions of the Code. Sanctions for these breaches are now being considered. The decision is here.
