Fishmongers’ Hall Inquests

12/04/2021

Richard Boyle, led by Samantha Leek QC, is representing the Secretary of State for the Home Department and the Secretary of State for Justice in these inquests which start today. The inquests arise out of the terrorist attack of a Cambridge University event, held at Fishmongers’ Hall, and London Bridge.

The attack led to the deaths of two Cambridge University graduates, Jack Merritt and Saskia Jones, and the attacker, Usman Khan. The inquests will consider the management of Usman Khan in prison, while he served a term of imprisonment for offences under the Terrorist Act, and by probation officers after his release. The inquests are being held in the Guildhall before HHJ Lucraft QC (former Chief Coroner) and are estimated to last for nine weeks.
