Rodney Dixon KC and Émilie Pottle have been instructed to represent Dr Dusko Knezevic in his extradition proceedings in the UK. The request for extradition made by Montenegro is among the first to be considered by UK courts and raises complex and serious issues regarding the independence of the courts and prosecuting authorities there.
Dr Knezevic is a high-profile individual who has been outspoken against the current President of Montenegro; he will contend that the request is politically motivated. The extradition hearing is expected to be held in early 2022.
