Claimant recovers £3.45M following serious spinal cord injury

Anthony Johnson (instructed by Michael Wangermann of Ashtons Legal) was instructed on behalf of the Claimant, a motorcyclist who had suffered a serious spinal cord injury. A negotiated settlement was reached in the sum of £3.45M.

There were two significant complicating features in relation to the settlement that was reached:

• Both liability and contributory negligence were hotly disputed; and
• The settlement was reached at a very early juncture in the litigation when the evidence that was available to advise upon quantum was fairly limited.
