Rhys Davies appointed as a Recorder

Temple Garden Chambers is delighted to announce that, on the advice of the Lord Chancellor and the Lady Chief Justice, Rhys Davies has been appointed as a Recorder and will sit in Crime on the South Eastern Circuit.

The appointment will take effect from 18th November. He will continue to sit as a Civil Deputy District Judge also in the South East.

Rhys is a specialist in international criminal law and international human rights law who advises business leaders, political figures and human rights defenders. He has particular expertise in politically sensitive cases, including Interpol Red Notice removals and maintains a busy domestic civil practice.

He regularly appears before UN bodies and international tribunals, as well as in the High Court and County Court in England and Wales. He was named International Pro Bono Barrister of the Year 2021.
