Rhys Davies has been sworn in as a Recorder at the Inner London Court, at a ceremony today, by Her Honour Judge Newbery.
Rhys will sit as a Criminal Recorder on the South Eastern Circuit. He will continue to sit as a Civil Deputy District Judge also in the South East.
Rhys is a specialist in international criminal law and international human rights law who advises business leaders, political figures and human rights defenders. He has particular expertise in politically sensitive cases, including Interpol Red Notice removals and maintains a busy domestic civil practice.
He regularly appears before UN bodies and international tribunals, as well as in the High Court and County Court in England and Wales. He was named International Pro Bono Barrister of the Year 2021.
