This week Rodney Dixon KC and Aidan Ellis represented their respective clients at the Defence Preparation Conference at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) in The Hague. The trial concerns charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity allegedly committed by the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) during the conflict with Serbian armed forces in 1998-1999 in Kosovo. Rodney Dixon KC acts as Lead Counsel for Kadri Veseli and Aidan Ellis, led by Venkateswari Alagendra, represents Jakup Krasniqi. The Trial Panel set the start date for the Defence case as 15 September 2025 and heard argument on several matters including the disclosure obligations on the defence, the submission of defence motions to admit exhibits, the anticipated duration of the defence cases and related timetabling issues. The trial will resume on 15 September 2025 at the KSC.
