Rhys Davies has been invited to speak at the 2026 Harvard International Law Journal Symposium at Harvard Law School on 28 February 2026.
The Harvard International Law Journal is one of the world’s leading academic publications in the field. Its annual symposium brings together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to address critical questions in international law.
Rhys will appear on a panel examining the role of private actors in modern conflict and the legal frameworks governing corporate responsibility in conflict-affected environments. The discussion will consider the application of international humanitarian law, international human rights law, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, as well as recent cases testing corporate accountability for atrocity crimes.
The topic connects closely with Rhys’s work on transnational repression and the abuse of Interpol Red Notices. Questions of corporate complicity arise when private actors become involved in cross-border repression by authoritarian states. Rhys is a leading expert in international human rights law and an authority on the removal of Interpol Red Notices. In 2025, he gave evidence to Parliament’s Joint Committee on Human Rights on transnational repression and the abuse of Interpol’s systems.
