Lionel Stride (instructed by Esther Millard at Moore Barlow) represented the Claimant in a professional negligence claim against a firm of solicitors who had allegedly significantly under-valued his complex injury claim.
This had led to a low settlement that was circa £750,000 below its true potential value. Breach of duty and quantum were in dispute. The parties remained a considerable distance apart even after a lengthy mediation.
However, the Defendant significantly increased its offer in the following few weeks and the parties were able to reach a favourable six-figure sum that appropriately reflected the Claimant’s loss of chance.
