Re the Inquests touching the deaths of those killed at the Shoreham Airshow

20/12/2022

Dates of case

HM Senior Coroner for West Sussex has returned conclusions in respect of the deaths of each of the 11 men killed outside the Shoreham Airshow in 2015. In each case, the Coroner ruled that the deceased had been unlawfully killed as a result of the gross negligence of the pilot when he incorrectly attempted to fly a looping manoeuvre. Noting the other investigations and actions that have taken place in the intervening years, the Coroner did not consider there was any requirement to make reports for the prevention of future deaths.

Keith Morton KC and David R White represented the Civil Aviation Authority.

Andrew Prynne KC represented the aircraft operator.
