High Court clinical negligence case. Lionel Stride (instructed by Laura Cleevely at Slater & Gordon) represented the family of a patient who tragically died following a negligent failure to diagnose a facial lesion as Squamous Cell Carcinoma despite vulnerability from pre-existing lupus. This led to a 12-month delay in diagnosis that proved fatal. Breach of duty, causation and quantum (including life expectancy) remained in dispute.
The claim settled for a high six-figure sum at an all-day mediation that assumed a favourable result for the Claimant at trial on all issues in dispute.
