Representing the Government of Afghanistan, led by Rodney Dixon QC, in relation to the ICC investigation into the situation in Afghanistan.
The Government of Afghanistan made written and oral submissions in the high profile recent Appeals Hearing into whether the Prosecutor should be authorized to open an investigation into the situation.
The Government of Afghanistan has now requested the Prosecutor to defer to its national investigation pursuant to Article 18 of the Statute. This request raises complex and novel issues which have not previously been litigated at the ICC.
