Saoirse represented Mr Urbonas in and was being led by Jonathan Hall KC. This case was the lead case on Lithuanian prison conditions. Relying on the 2023 CPT report, the Appellants argued that there was a real risk of Article 3 ECHR mistreatment due to the State’s failure to protect prisoners from endemic inter-prisoner violence.
