H v C

08/03/2022

Ben Casey secured a settlement of £750,000 on behalf of a 77 year old who suffered severe spinal injuries in the course of a cycling accident.  The claimant was classified as having C3 AIS incomplete tetraplegia. He was able to move his hands but had little movement in either of his upper arms meaning that movements had to be largely generated from the wrists and forearms. Lower limb function was largely unaffected.

The claim involved allegations of contributory negligence, issues over life expectancy and a consideration of appropriate care packages and accommodation going forward.

Instructed by Emma Wilson at Slater Gordon.
