Chambers & Partners 2016

Temple Garden Chambers is a leading Personal Injury set and for many years members of chambers have been consistently recommended for Personal Injury and related work by both Chambers UK and the Legal 500. Given the size and depth of talent of our personal injury team we are able to provide a specialist personal injury barrister, or a team of barristers, appropriate to the particular demands of any given case.

Chambers is rightly proud of the reputation that members have of acting both for claimants and for defendants/insurers. We believe this ensures that our barristers can provide advice and representation of the highest standard, which is independent and objective. As well as representing accident victims and union members, we regularly act for insurers, government bodies and companies, both large and small.

We participate in several prestigious insurance panels, including those for domestic insurers, the Attorney General’s Civil Panel, the Welsh Government and the Motor Insurers’ Bureau.

We act in all forms of personal injury and related litigation. We have specialists across the full range of PI claims, with individual members experienced in the following areas: catastrophic injuries, including brain and spinal cord injuries; fatal accidents; all types of industrial disease; employer’s liability; road traffic accidents; occupier’s liability; group actions; child abuse; military claims; sports (participants and spectators); aviation; travel, including claims with a ‘foreign’ element and jurisdictional disputes; and criminal injury compensation claims and claims under the Automated and Electric Vehicles Act 2018.

Individuals within chambers have taken a lead in developing the law in a number of niche areas, including subtle brain injury, chronic pain, fraud and the deployment of surveillance evidence and automated and electric vehicle law. In addition, several members of chambers are accredited by the Spinal Injuries Association.

Our specialist costs team, many of whom have extensive personal injury experience, are also able to offer assistance with issues concerning cost budgeting and cost recovery.

The work of our personal injury practitioners also complements many of the other Practice Areas within Chambers, including Civil Fraud; Clinical Negligence; Inquests; Insurance; Health and Safety; and Product Liability.

As so much personal injury work is now resolved outside of Court, through mediations and settlement meetings, we are pleased to be able to offer bespoke ADR suites with disabled access: please see Facilities for further details. Chambers also boasts a number of fully accredited and qualified Mediators. To find a Mediator, please use the filter on the Members page to display all barristers who are qualified mediators.
