Professional Discipline

seamless unit, diligent, hard-working and inclusive

Chambers & Partners

Chambers has a team of practitioners who practise regularly in this field both advising and appearing on behalf of regulatory bodies and individuals. Their expertise comes from not only appearing as advocates but also sitting as committee members or Chairman on Professional Tribunals or as legal advisers to professional Committees, including the General Medical Council, the General Dental Council, the General Optical Council and the Nursing and Midwifery Council. This strength both in depth and experience across the spectrum of professional regulation places Members of Chambers in an advantageous position when representing either the regulator or the professional person concerned.

All are very experienced in dealing sensitively with the disciplinary issues that arise in this field. Members of the team welcome instructions both to appear on behalf of professionals who are required to face proceedings, including before the “Fitness to Practise” Committee or to present cases on behalf of regulators.
