The “Standard Contractual Terms for the Supply of Legal Services by Barristers to Authorised Persons” came into being on 31 January 2013.
The Standard Contractual Terms have been introduced by the Bar Standards Board through a process overseen by the Legal Services Board, the umbrella regulatory body for both solicitors and barristers, which considered and approved the Standard Contractual Terms following consultation with interested parties, including the Law Society.
Any new instructions will be on these terms, unless agreed otherwise.
