Extradition requests from Kuwait refused

17/11/2023

The first extradition requests from the Government of Kuwait under its treaty with the UK have been refused for one Requested Person, following protracted extradition proceedings at Westminster Magistrates Court. Rodney Dixon KC with Ben Keith (5 St Andrew’s Hill) represented a Kuwaiti national residing in the UK whose extradition was sought by Kuwait concerning allegations of fraud. They were instructed by Sonn Macmillan Walker. All four extradition requests in his case were discharged. The Government of Kuwait has indicated that it will not appeal the judgment for this case.
