Saoirse Townshend has been appointed as an Assistant Coroner for Inner South London. She will undertake this role alongside her full-time practice.
Saoirse’s coronial practice comprises mostly complex and high-profile inquests, typically cases in which Article 2 ECHR is engaged. She represents both families and institutional interested persons. She has particular experience of inquests relating to deaths in custody and community care whilst under mental health supervision and inquests arising from failings in clinical care.
