| Ben Casey has secured a £1.2m settlement on behalf of a young man who suffered a severe knee injury and a foot drop as a result of being knocked off his scooter when aged 16. The claim involved a consideration of the correct approach to future loss of earnings in the face of the claimant’s disability, his probable worsening condition in the future and complex career projection models in the absence of the accident. There were disputes over various other matters including future treatment, the provision of orthotics, the level of future care and assistance required and future transport and holiday costs. The case settled at a Joint Settlement Meeting. |
